Wilkadene woolshed with its white ant resistant native pine posts, supplied paddle steamers with chaff, by way of a chute from the shed down the cliff to the river. The early settlers in the area were of course dependent on the paddle steamers for everything from food and household goods to their religious requirements. We are now reliving some of the former glory of the paddle steamers and their river trade by welcoming river traffic to our Brewery.
Sit on the magnificent decks and sweeping lawns and soak in the beauty of the Murray River. We don’t have wool or chaff available anymore, only our range of award winning ales, wines, cider and Utopia wine spritzers to help make your river holiday a memorable one.
Utilising rain water collected on the property and power produced from our solar farm, we produce hand crafted boutique beers in an environmentally conscious manner. All waste water is used on the property’s extensive gardens and spent grain is eagerly accepted by our chickens, in return for wonderful free range farm eggs.
We currently have a core range of seven ales, apple cider, Hard lemonade, Rude Ruby and our own range of wines. We also offer limited release batches of different styles to suit the season.
Being a 100 year old shearing shed we do not have any kitchen facilities in place. We do however offer local produce for purchase to create your own platters along with free bbq facilities. Most weekends we have local caterers offering anything from wood fired pizza, traditional Greek yiros, burgers and Mexican. Keep and eye out on our facebook page for weekly updates.
